Description
The TechDraw ActiveView tool inserts a bitmap image of the active 3D View into a drawing page.

Usage
- Navigate to the correct 3D View.
- If there are multiple drawing pages in the document: optionally select the desired page in the Tree View.
- There are several ways to invoke the tool:
- Press the
Active View button.
- Select the TechDraw → Views From Other Workbenches →
Active View option from the menu.
- Press the
- If there are multiple drawing pages in the document and you have not yet selected a page, the Page Chooser dialog box opens:
- Select the desired page.
- Press the OK button.
- The Insert Active View task panel opens. See Options for more information.
- Press the OK button.
Options
The following can be specified:
- Crop image: Crops the generated bitmap. When enabled, the width and height values can be used to control the visible image area.
- Crop to width: The width (in mm) to crop the generated view.
- Crop to height: The height (in mm) to crop the generated view.
- Background introduced in 1.2: Sets the background mode of the generated bitmap. Available modes include no background, a solid background color, or the current 3D View background.
Notes
- Active Views are static once generated, they are never updated with changes to the 3D model.
- An Active View behind the scenes is an Image. Its DataScale Type property is therefore always initialized as
Custom.
