Description
The Std AlignToSelection command points the camera in the active 3D View in the direction of the normal of a face, the normal of a plane defined by a planar curved edge (introduced in 1.1), or the direction of a straight edge.
introduced in 1.0 The final direction of the camera is opposite the direction of the normal or edge.
introduced in 1.1 The final direction of the camera is the direction of the normal or edge, or its opposite, whichever is closest to the previous camera direction.
Usage
- Select a face (must be planar in version 1.0), a planar curved edge or a straight edge in the 3D View.
- There are several ways to invoke the command:
- Press the
Align to Selection button.
- Select the View → Standard Views →
Align to Selection option from the menu.
- Select the
Align to Selection option from the 3D View context menu.
- Select the
Align to Selection option from the Mini-cube menu of the Navigation Cube.
- Press the
