Description
The Part SelectFilter command can be used to restrict selection in the 3D view to vertices, edges or faces, or to remove that restriction.
Usage
Vertex selection
- This option only allows the selection of vertices.
- There are several ways to invoke this option:
- Click on the black down arrow to the right of the
button in the toolbar and select the
Vertex selection option from the flyout. Note: the button image will change depending on the selected option.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: X then S.
- Click on the black down arrow to the right of the
Edge selection
- This option only allows the selection of edges.
- There are several ways to invoke this option:
- Select the
Edge selection option from the toolbar. See above.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: E then S.
- Select the
Face selection
- This option only allows the selection of faces.
- There are several ways to invoke this option:
- Select the
Face selection option from the toolbar. See above.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: F then S.
- Select the
All selection filters cleared
- This option allows the selection of all subelements and of whole objects.
- There are several ways to invoke this option:
- Select the
All selection filters cleared option from the toolbar. See above.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: C then S.
- Select the
Notes
- Selecting from the Tree view is impossible with the vertex, edge and face selection options.
- The vertex, edge and face selection options do not work together with Std BoxSelection or Std BoxElementSelection.
