Description
The BIM Shape2DCut tool creates a 2D projection of only the intersecting faces of selected objects on the XY-plane.
This tool is a specialized variant of the BIM Shape2DView tool. It performs the exact same operation, but explicitly sets the resulting object's DataProjection Mode property to Cutfaces.
When used in combination with an Arch SectionPlane, it produces solid filled shapes where the plane physically slices through the 3D geometry. It is typically used alongside BIM Shape2DView to build standard architectural drawings with background lines and solid cut fills.
Usage
See BIM Shape2DView for the full workflow. The steps are identical, except this tool is invoked via:
- The
Section Cut button.
- The Annotation → Create 2D Views →
Section Cut menu option.
- The keyboard shortcut: V then C.
Notes
See BIM Shape2DView.
Properties
See Draft Shape2DView.
The BIM Shape2DCut tool alters the following default properties of the created object:
- DataInPlace (
Bool): Set tofalse. - DataProjection Mode (
Enumeration): Set toCutfaces.
