We call sponsoring the act of donating money recurrently to the FreeCAD project. You can do that as an individual or as a company or institution, through different channels or platforms, depending on your preferences.

Sponsoring FreeCAD allows its developers to count on a steady flow of income, so it allows the FPA to plan things ahead, and the FreeCAD developers to invest themselves more seriously into FreeCAD.

To encourage persons and companies to sponsor the FreeCAD project, we have created different sponsoring tiers. When donating regularly to the project, unless you prefer to stay anonymous, your name, company name and/or logo will be featured on this website, depending on the tier you fit into:

  • ♥ Normal sponsor : from 1 USD / 1 EUR per month. You will not have your name displayed here, but you will have helped the project a lot anyway. Together, normal sponsors maintain the project on its feet as much as the bigger sponsors.
  • 🥉 Bronze sponsor : from 25 USD / 25 EUR per month. Your name or company name is displayed on this page.
  • 🥈 Silver sponsor : from 100 USD / 100 EUR per month. Your name or company name is displayed on this page, with a link to your website, and a one-line description text.
  • 🥇 Gold sponsor : from 200 USD / 200 EUR per month. Your name or company name and logo displayed on this page, with a link to your website and a custom description text. Companies that have helped FreeCAD early on also appear under Gold sponsors.

Arch AxisSystem

Description

The AxisSystem tool allows you to combine two or three Arch Axis objects.

This is useful to define the intersection points between the different axes. Arch objects can then use this system to duplicate their shape on the different intersection points.

*Three [Arch Axis](wiki-test2.php?gitpage=Arch_Axis) objects combined into one [Arch AxisSystem](wiki-test2.php?gitpage=Arch_AxisSystem). An [Arch Structure](wiki-test2.php?gitpage=Arch_Structure) object uses this system as its **Axis* property, to have its shape duplicated at each intersection point.**

Usage

  1. Optionally, select the Arch Axis objects you wish to include in this system.
  2. Press the Axis System button.
  3. Right-click the newly created axes system object in the tree view to add/edit the Arch Axis objects included in this system.
  4. Select any existing Arch Axis and press Add or Remove buttons to add or remove it to/from this system.
  5. Set the Axis property of any Arch object to point to this system, to have its shape duplicated to the intersection points of this system.

Options

  • A same Arch Axis object can be part of more than one system
  • Any shape-based object can also be used as the Axis property of Arch objects. In this case, the object shape will be duplicated along the vertices of the Axis object

The AxisSystem tool can be used in macros and from the Python console by using the following function: 

AxisSystem = makeAxisSystem(axes, name="Axis System")
  • Creates an AxisSystem object from the given axes, which is a single Arch Axis, or a list of them.

Example:

Axes = Arch.makeAxis(5, 1000)

Axes.ViewObject.LineWidth = 3
